Today we delved into the topic of leadership and what that means even when we are more of a follower.

Over the last nine months we have welcomed Rev. Barb McRae as the transitional pastor for First Presbyterian of Wyandotte. It has been a pleasure to work with her and welcome everyone from First to Lincoln Park.

We enjoyed a day of worshipping outside and reflecting on the challenging of focusing on what's really important in life.

How often do we think Sabbath/Rest sounds good but there is just no time?

Trinity Sunday

This week we are challenged to understand who the Holy Spirit is and what does it matter to our lives.

This week we had a fun time exploring a story about Saul and David.

What do we have to set aside in order to love?

This Sunday we delved into a discussion of love. During the service we passed green yarn around to the point that everyone in the congregation was surrounded by it. 

John 10:11-18 and Psalm 23

This Sunday began with no electricity (due to a storm) but in that we are shaken out of our routine so that we are more open to where the presence of Christ is in our lives.

We delve into the discussion of how do we live into the change that the resurrection brings with love never dying.

A day of joyous celebration that love cannot die. We also came together for baptism and communion.

Maundy Thursday is a Tenebrae Service (a service of light and shadows) that reflect upon the seven last words (phrases) of Jesus and the story of Jesus commanding his disciples to love one another at the last supper. 

Palm Sunday is a recognition of the mountaintops and the valleys in life, but when we face those valleys who do we belong to, who gets to define who we are?

Today we looked at a rather confusing passage where Jesus' words aren't exactly clear to those standing around him and to us the readers. How often in life do we find things confusing or maybe we don't like what we are hearing?

Choosing the path of light is the hardest choice to make but we must choice. After the sermon the young disciples asked a profound question that result in a discussion about how sometimes someone may choose a path for us that can be good or bad so then the only choice we sometimes have is how we will react to that. We always have a choice in how we react to the world around us.

Today we explored how Jesus teaching in the temple is a challenge to us today.

Today we delve into Mark 8:31-38 and how Jesus is challenging the disciples and us in understanding who we are.
